MPHS Foundation

Class of 74 MPHS Foundation Fundraiser

Mission of MPHS Foundation
To enhance the education experience of Myers Park students by
expanding opportunity, addressing unmet needs and funding
innovation.

Who do they serve?
The Foundation serves approximately 500 students who are struggling
to graduate due to homelessness, lack of parental support, poverty and
other reasons. One third of MPHS students live below the poverty line
and approximately 100 students are homeless.

Where does the Money go?
Much of the money goes to pay for counselors to work with the
students in need. Below we have listed some specifics.

CMS Graduation Coach - a full time position at MPHS who works with
students who are at risk of not graduating with their class.

Communities in Schools Counselor – a full time position that brings the
proven Communities in Schools model to MPHS by case managing
students across a broad at-risk spectrum. There is a second full time
counselor at the school that is separately funded.

Student Wellness Center - opened in the Fall of 2023, it is located in
the former Art Gallery and jointly funded by the Foundation, the Jason
Peter Huff, Jr. Memorial Fund, the MPHS Principal’s Office/CMS and
supported by the PTSO. It provides a home-like environment on campus
with the intention of supporting mental health initiatives for students
at. MPHS

Mustangs Matter - an after-school program where MPHS staff provides
academic support, recreation and life skills to students who need
additional support.
